About the Women's Center

What we do

WECONECT provides free and confidential support, counseling and advocacy for child and adult survivors of sexual assault and those concerned about the survivor.

WECONECT provides services to these towns: Ashford, Bozrah, Brooklyn, Canterbury, Chaplin, Colchester, Columbia, Coventry, Eastford, East Lyme, Griswold, Groton, Hampton, Killingly, Lebanon, Ledyard, Lisbon, Lyme, Mansfield, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Norwich, Plainfield, Pomfret, Preston, Putnam, Salem, Scotland, Sprague, Sterling, Stonington, Thompson, Union, Voluntown, Waterford, Willington, Windham and Woodstock.

WECONECT receives funding from state and private sources. It works cooperatively with other groups concerned about the same problems - police, courts, hospitals and the Domestic Violence program in Danielson.

Volunteer opportunities

• Thirty-hour training program that leads to certification as a sexual assault crisis counselor
• Up to 20 hours per week internships providing workplace training
