Trying to record the events and thoughts of the day was a simpler matter in days of the written journal. But: I didn't keep it up. There are countless journal starts littering my history, mostly lost or left behind.

More complicated it may be, but online journals are somehow more compelling to me. Oh, I know what it is! even though there are false starts and missteps, they are all right here on my server.

So the biggest problem is how to categorize my writings. We have the following types:

• record of local/home events
• record of interior events
• political views, commentary on the news

I have three new blogs. This is something I started up with in September. If you are interested, go to blogger and try it out. The blogger software, which has a free and a purchased version, lets you set up a fairly nice-looking page for daily ( or frequent) updates on whatever the topic is, with relatively little fussing with the html.

Blogs most commonly are used as diaries and as link repositories- diary of surfing, good finds.
